Joyce Aboussie signed off as U.S. Rep. Dick Gephardt’s longtime aide when the congressman retired from politics in 2005. But that didn’t slow her work schedule a bit. She is at the helm of two local businesses: Telephone Contact Inc., a survey, research and voter-contact company; and Aboussie & Associates, a strategic consulting firm. Her companies have clients that dot the U.S. map, including businesses, nonprofits and political organizations. In addition, she spends as much time on charitable efforts as most people do at their regular jobs.
